Peaches and Verbs

I've been so thrilled to read in remarkable bookstores and art spaces all around the country, many of them independent bookstores which we all need to support especially in troubled economic times, and I can't wait to visit Charis Books in Atlanta, on Thursday, February 5th. I hope you can join me there or pass along the word to your friends in the Atlanta area!

The host of the event, Charis Circle, has a mission near and dear to my heart: Charis Circle is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster sustainable feminist communities, work for social justice, and encourage the expression of diverse and marginalized voices.

I do hope to make it to Charis, Patti! Ironically, I’d have to skip my cultural diversity class (MSW) to do so… so having to play that by ear. Hopefully I can at least show up by the end and meet you. Or maybe you’ll get another gig while in Atlanta. Thanks for the continued inspiration! Gave your book to a friend for Xmas and she is loving it.

i live in atlanta …. and have art in your book … and had EVERY intention of being at a reading here or in a close by state … and here you are …. SO close to my home … and where will i be? in florida, for the opening night of my own art show …. such bad timing … i’m sad to miss …. elizabeth

Patti, I keep waiting for you to post a blog entry about your reading in Morganton, WV at the end of November in the church you grew up in. (My friend, Lori — now living in Morganton — attended and had a wonderful experience and sent all of her Montgomery County Maryland buddies a pic of you and her.) I am the person that sent you pics of my artists’ cards in an email. Would love to hear from you re: being a contributor to your next book! Thanks for a great blog AND book!
