Creative Coaching with Patti Digh

Because if you’re alive, you’re creative—even if you don’t believe it yet.

There’s a moment—quiet, often private—when someone says:
“I’m just not creative.”
Or: “I used to be, but I’ve lost it.”
Or: “I have ideas, but I don’t know where to begin.”

If that’s you, I want to gently interrupt that story.

Creativity isn’t a talent you either have or don’t. It’s a way of engaging with the world, a practice, a muscle. Creativity is an action. You don’t have to wait to “feel creative” to begin; creativity happens because you show up.

My Approach

My work is grounded in a simple belief (and the subtitle of my book, Creative Is a Verb): “If you’re alive, you’re creative.”

Among other things, we’ll explore the three blocks to creativity that many of us carry:

  • False expectations of self – belief our work must be exceptional to be worth doing
  • False comparisons with others – measuring yourself against others instead of your own curiosity
  • False investments in a story – “A real writer is ______” or “A real artist is______”

Together, we’ll work to dissolve these blocks and reconnect you with a creativity that feels alive, not distant, forced, or intimidating. You’ll rediscover creativity as something joyful, expansive, and practical—a part of your life you can access anytime.

Who This Is For

This coaching is for you if:

  • You don’t believe you’re creative—but wish you were
  • You feel stuck, blocked, or disconnected from your creative self
  • You’ve started and stopped more projects than you can count
  • You long for more fun, freedom, and expression in your life
  • You don’t need a project. You don’t need a plan. You just need a willingness to act, explore, and play
  • You need feedback on a specific creative project (Writers, do you want feedback on your writing?)
What We’ll Do Together

6-month coaching container:

  • One 75-minute intake session – a deep, spacious conversation
  • Five 60-minute coaching sessions – ongoing reflection, support, and forward movement
  • Between-session support – email, text, or voice notes

Creativity isn’t about talent—it’s about action. We’ll practice it, experiment, and uncover how alive it can feel when you give yourself permission to do it.

Your Creative Coach

Patti Digh is a writer, creative instigator, and longtime guide for people ready to reclaim their creative lives—not as a performance, but as a practice of being fully alive. The author of eight books, including Life is a Verb and Creative is a Verb, Patti’s work invites a simple but radical truth: creativity isn’t reserved for the talented few—it belongs to anyone willing to pay attention.

With a background spanning global leadership, diversity and inclusion strategy, and decades of teaching across corporate, nonprofit, and academic spaces in more than 60 countries, Patti brings both depth and warmth to her coaching. She has worked with organizations from Fortune 500 companies to grassroots nonprofits to elementary schools and universities, always returning to one central question: how do we live and create with intention?

Through her coaching, courses, and the beloved Life is a Verb Camp, Patti helps people move past the false expectations, comparisons, and stories that keep them stuck. Her approach is grounded, playful, and deeply human—less about producing perfect work and more about cultivating a creative life that feels awake, curious, and true.

She lives in the mountains of North Carolina, where she continues to write, teach, and invite others into the brave, necessary act of making something alive, meaningful, and fully their own.
