IMG_1582 I am taking some new journeys this year, and would like to invite you to join me.

Becoming bendy : a new blog to document a year of mindful eating and moving. This post will explain why I started this journey on January 1st. Today is the 37th day of this new focus. Will you join me for the next 37? Is it possible to change your life in 37 days? It is. It surely is.

3x3x365 : a new blog with two friends. We've never all been in the same place at the same time, we live in three different states, and we're posting a photo and caption every day in 2011. It is amazing how the photos and captions intertwine, though we don't share them beforehand. Because the shortest distance between three people is a story. And stories come in many forms. I love this project.

37days will continue, and I hope you'll join me here. I have spent the past few months writing essays about loss, about grief. Some will be posted here on 37days as I continue writing, and others will be published in a new book I'm planning for 2012, called The Geography of Loss.

I am celebrating the Super Bowl today by going to a two-hour yoga workshop in memory and honor of my recently departed friend, Amy Stiefvater, who loved yoga and found great happiness in it. May she rest in peace.

    Congratulations, Patti, on the new blogs. I know that Becoming Bendy will be an inspiration to continue on my own path to taking better care of myself, and that 3x3x365 will fuel my own love of photography and of capturing life through images. Darn it, girl, you read my mind!

    Oh my, how cute the two of you! My yoga mat is my sanctuary. a small rectangular temple for a short period of time each day. I am celebrating this day at the beach. My brother died on January 16th as did our friend, Vince. This loss this time is a canyon, a deep canyon. I can see a beautiful blue strip of sky above but the walls are sheer and high. Friends are on the rim reaching out with love and sympathy and I appreciate that but my emotional reach is short just yet and the path a little longer than I expected. I look forward to reading The Geography of Loss. I know it will be exceptional. Much love to you Patti.

    I am so happy for you! I had forgotten about Becoming Bendy. There is no RSS or subscription for it I see? Anyhow I adore 3x3x3. It is such a gift. I too am very much health focused this year so I am absolutely joining you for the next 37 and the next after that!. I hope you know how much I appreciate you in my life. Me just one of many hundreds and thousands I know, but I have to say it again. You have inspired my life in such good ways. XO

    The geography of loss….I love the title Patti. I think you were telling me about it on the trip back to your hotel, but the top down car ride was a little too short…and the spooky moon was distracting. I love that you are being bendy, hoping that it gets you out of your head and in your body. Good thoughts to you my friend.
