Live an open-hearted life
When she walked in the door at the recent Life is a Verb retreat, I knew immediately who she was. Caren writes a blog called Open-Hearted Life and my first impression was that her heart was wide, wide open.
She brought all of us heart and light and rhythm at the retreat, in significant ways. And she spent some time with Life is a Verb, providing a review on her blog as one of the final stops in the LIAV Blog Tour ’08, from which this is excerpted:
Patti is a writer who knows she’s not alone in the world, and her writing and experiences show that. She is able to write about people in a way that leaves me feeling like I know them, which to me, means she’s made a soul connection with each one — and, to me, too. Yaron is my friend, too, and I still tear up over the loss of Meta, and I feel a part of her circle of love, even though I’ve never met either person. Tess is one of my favorite children on the planet, and if I should ever meet her, I know we’d be great friends.
Caren did meet Tess at the end of the Life is a Verb retreat we recently held in North Carolina, the three of us ending up laughing in a magical loft at the top of the lodge, reachable only by a tree house ladder through a hole in the floor of the loft. My thanks to Caren for her very kind words about Life is a Verb, and also for her energy and open heart, a gift to all of us.
