  • Seven months and creating boundaries is pretty awesome. I believe I may be a decade older than you, or a bit less, and I was dismayed to read how many similarities we have on our journey. Dismayed because it really sucks and I am sorry you had to go through some of them also. I have worked diligently on creating healthy boundaries and found my vehicle in the past two years through teaching and offering workshops. In art! I discovered I have a manner of teaching that engages people and creates success without me solving, fixing, rebuilding or managing anyone else’s life. Like I am capable of doing that anyway! I appreciate your orange couch revalation. I once was writing a book on business partnerships after I lost everything but my house in one (as in all my retirement and savings and business). The writing and research of the book was good therapy for me. But the only sentence I wanted to keep after a year was “don’t do it, ever”.

  • Dear Patti,

    Wow.

I honor you, your challenges, your path and your growth, layer by layer,
learning to care for your sweet self and Self.

    I love you!

I haven’t read your books, and I’ve been aware of the awesome writing
you share with the world. I know women who’ve attended your programs
    who thrive afterwards.

I appreciate your humanity and your expanding understanding that helping
    others isn’t helpful.

To you shining in all the ways you do!

    Love, love,
    Joy

Thank you so much for this essay. I am a capable woman who has been feeling unaccountably overwhelmed and sad. I made an appointment for help (two weeks from now) and was feeling guilty ever since. This couldn’t have come at a better time. Blessings…

Breathe dear one, breathe. Allow laughter back into your laugh. Be at peace with yourself and others.
    But most of all breathe.
    Namaste,
    Sara

Sure sounds like you’ve come a long way. Life keeps happening, despite what we’d like. I’ve found (in the last few years) that I need to learn to like what happens.

Well, a heart attack helps focus your thoughts.
